Electric and Acoustic Instruments

Scrap Kalimba

Built mainly from a rake, coconut, and CNC router scrap

Appalachian Dulcimer

A new body for a two-string Appalachian Dulcimer. The fretboard is recovered from a Kindermusik children's instrument, which had a broken cardboard body. The new body is built from scrap oak flooring and plywood, with a piezo contact mic.

Desktop Bass

An electric bass made from repurposed parts. The neck was found already de-fretted in the trash. The body was milled from a composite-wood work desk, showing all the existing scratches and stains from its years of use. The scratch plate is cut from the aluminum body of a Macbook Pro.
